The Following game was provided to me for free by the developers and publishers. Therefore I would like to thank the developer/publisher for providing a free copy of the game to play on my stream.
In this Live Stream, Ready Set Indie Games plays Arcade Paradise on PC.
Arcade Paradise is one of the games that I was anticipating releasing from when I covered it back during Steam Next
Fest last year, and it has finally been released. I was really excited to get my hands on this one as I enjoyed the demo quite a bit. So although I said it in the beginning I would like to thank the Developers and Publishers for providing me with a free copy
of the game, so that I could play it on stream and write this review.
It is the 1990s and you have just been given the most fabulous job ever. You have been given the keys to King Wash, an outdated laundromat! You
read that right, as Ashley, you are taking over the family business from your father. So it may not be the ideal job yet until you realize that the money is not exactly from the laundromat itself but from the Arcade Games that are located in the back. Of course,
your father won't hear anything of it because laundry is where it's at. So if you're going to make the best arcade ever you are going to have to with the help of your sister Leslie trick your father into thinking you're still in the family business of laundry
while making the most fantastic arcade ever.
Starting off I really enjoyed the opening to the game as it has a retro nostalgia to it. I do like the simulation gameplay of the laundromat because until you build the
arcade up it is your main source of income. As I played the game before I was able to come up with a strategy that gives you $30.00 per basket of clothes you wash. Although the arcade and coin dispenser for the laundromat stops generating money at 11 PM in-game
time. You can, however. stay to 2 AM in-game time washing clothes. However, you have to keep in mind that it takes anywhere from 5 to 6 hours in-game time to wash and dry clothes. The good thing is you can save clothes baskets for the next morning to get the
most out of the clothes basket. If not the next morning you will only warrant $5.00 from the basket.
In addition to washing clothes, you have to clean up the laundromat, such as picking up garbage and taking
out the trash. There is also you cleaning the toilet and cleaning the sticky gum off of items. I do love that each of the cleaning items is a mini-game as well. You can earn up to $20.00 for taking out the trash and depending on the gum you can earn up to
$50.00 so you want to look out for the gum stuck to items.
One of the biggest things that makes this game really cool is not only is it a simulation game, but you can play the arcade machine games that you purchase.
I thought that was really clever because it gives you multiple games in a game, and I am a big fan of games that allow you to play many games. I tend to play games at the end of the day. After I've done my cut-off for laundry baskets.
The one thing I would say that threw me through a loop wasThe Safe in the office. I like that mini-game for putting the money in the safe, but it says No Cash to Deposited and I thought I lost the money I collected. It turns out it was deposited and
you can check this by looking on the computer. I would have liked the text flavor to say "Cash has been deposited" or something to the effect, just as a way to not panic.
Overall, if you love simulation games and
playing a lot of mini-games then I highly recommend picking up Arcade Paradise.
