Ready Set Indie Games Presents: Batora: Lost Haven (PC)

The Following game was provided to me for free by the developers and publishers. Therefore I would like to thank the developer/publisher for providing a free copy of the game to play in this video.

The following Gameplay Footage is a demo of the Batora: Lost Haven. Therefore, the footage you see may or may not be featured in the final version of the game. Also, there may be some noticeable bugs in the game.

In this gameplay video, Ready Set Indie Games plays Batora Lost Haven on PC.

Batora: Lost Haven is an action role-playing game, that has puzzle elements to it. I have been keeping up with the development of Batora: Lost Haven on twitter and was excited when I was offered a key for the demo to play and show off.

In Batora: Lost Haven you play as Avril, a young woman who appears to be one of two of the last surviving humans in another world, the other being her friend Mila. After Avril receives powers from the Sun and Moon she and her friend Mila enter into a new world in which they get split up. Now Avril, must do what it takes to save this new world as their guardian and save her friend Mila as well.

The game is gorgeous and in its early demo build did at times stutter, but again this is just a demo of the game and so I expected some performance issues, so it didn't bother me much.

One of the things I did have a bit of an issue with is that the characters appear small. Now I will say I'm not sure if there was a zoom-in feature in the game, but it would be nice to zoom in just a little bit to see where you are going.

I did like that the game has not only action RPG elements to it, but also times in which you have to solve puzzles in the game as well. The puzzle is not as difficult (at least the ones I played) as they are more time-consuming. I will say the puzzles to break up the traditional hack and slash elements of the game.

One of the things I will say is that the controls were a little stiff to me when it came to the controller. When using the super for the physical attacks you can't guide where it's going to hit, and the same with the mental attacks. I would like some sort of aim system added to make this a little easier to do. Otherwise, you're just shooting blindly at the enemies. This can be added as something to be turned on or off. Now it may be better with the keyboard and mouse as you can play with Keyboard/Mouse as well as Controller. I choose to play with a controller and it was stiff, so hopefully, that can be tweaked a bit.

Overall, Batora: Lost Haven is a pretty good game and I cannot wait to see what comes of it when it fully releases.
