In this gameplay video, Ready Set Indie Games plays The Prince of Landis on PC.

The Prince of Landis puts you in the seat of a young boy, who doesn't have the best of luck as it seems. At the beginning of the game he gets bullied because he's not exactly living up to the expectations of his father, who once you to be one of the most feared men in the town, who has traded that life for being a stone-cold alcoholic. It's also clear that the man character's father also does not give a care about him, or at least he doesn't seem to care because of the whole alcoholic issue but to be fair we don't know if he really cares or not but that's for a different day to analyze that.

The controls for the game were pretty solid you can use both the controller and keyboard but I played this with the controller and didn't have any issues with the controls. I will say that I did love the still pictures of the game and thought they were beautiful but it was a little strange for the characters to be very tiny on the screen. It reminded me of playing with a Polly pocket from back in the day, it just felt like everything was a little underscaled.

I will say that the game should have come with a trigger warning only because they are some incidents in the game, that could be triggering to some players. Such as the bullying and the use of homophobic slurs just to name a few. So a Trigger Warning should have been present at the beginning of the game to alert others of these situations. Also, the game automatically comes up in Spanish and although you can change the language each time you change it, the game restarts itself. So it would have been nice to just have a traditional language selected at the beginning of the game to select your language.

Overall, if you are someone who likes RPGs and story-based games, then I would say go ahead and give The Prince of Landis a try.
