In this Live Stream, Ready Set Indie Games plays Merek's Market on PC.

Merek's Market is a time management crafting game that was recently released on September 17, 2021, for PC, Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. Before I get into my review of Merek's Market I would like to take the time to thank Big Village Games for providing me with a free copy of the full game for Merek's Market to play on stream and to write this review.

In Merek's Market, you play as Merek a merchant during medieval times. Merek's biggest task is to just run his shop. Either by crafting things from the book that Tess has left him or by doing actually haggle for items that he sells to people who come into the shop.

Now I originally play the game a while back and enjoyed it, and I can say that I still enjoy the game now. I personally play the game with the controller as I did run into some issues with the keyboard controllers. I could move around with WASD but wasn't able to do much of anything else. I'm not sure if this is a bug or if the game is strictly a controller-based game. Also, I ran into a glitch with the in-game that it doesn't allow for you to do anything after you exit out of one of the sub menu, so you have to hit the menu button -if you are playing on an Xbox controller- to exit out and come back into the menu.

In terms of gameplay, you control Merek, and as stated before this is a time management/crafting game. So the customer comes in and ask for items that Merek can make for the current level and you are task with making them. However, this is a shop after all and in addition to making items to sell, you will get customers from time to time who wants to purchase goods from your wall, which then enters you into a haggling type mini-game, which can be a lot of fun.

The game starts off a bit easy and picks up the difficulty as you go along adding new things to do as the game goes on. Overall, I had a lot of fun with Merek's Market and I do highly recommend it if you are someone who is really into time management/crafting games.
