In this Live Stream, Ready Set Indie Games plays ProtoCorgi Demo on PC.

ProtoCorgi is an adorable but difficult shmup in which you play as a Robo Corgi who must defend the world from the evil forces. Not gonna lie, I didn't know I needed a Robo Corgi shmup until I played ProtoCorgi. ProtoCorgi may look cute but it is really difficult as well. So if you are someone who enjoys a challenge then ProtoCorgi will be right up your alley. One of the things I do want to take the time to mention is that some of the autoscrolling portions are a little strange. It leaves you with the choice of either being killed by the enemy or because the auto-scroll screen moves too slow, you end up getting crushed or run into a creature that you couldn't see. So the auto-scroll needs to be adjusted a bit.

The controls were great with the controller and I didn't have any issues with that. I did find myself a little confused with the power-ups in the game, but I think when it comes to power-ups in shmups you just have to take the time to learn them and figure out what combos work for you as a player. Also, another cool thing that wasn't available in the Demo was the fact that you could customize the Corgi's Bark which is also a weapon.

Overall, I am looking forward to seeing how the game turns out and it's on my games to watch list.

If you would like to play for yourself, you can get the demo during Steam Next Fest which is going on from June 16 - June 22, 2021. I am not sure if the demo will be available after that time so if you like what you see of the gameplay be sure to wishlist the game on steam if you enjoy it as well:
